I am creating three websites idea comps for class
My goal of this website is to get students, prospective clients, and anyone interested in my artwork to come to and enjoy. I have three ideas. The first idea consists of a fun, colorful layout with a rubik’s cube in the back ground. It will be a real image taken to a low opacity and fill so that anything on top can be viewed easily. I will structure the site according to the rows and columns of the rubik’s cube. I plan to use eye-frames to show the work.
The second idea is a more professional feel. I want to use a background of image(s) I have drawn with charcoal(the medium I most enjoy). It may contain a combination of images drawn of models in school and filtered to a low opacity. I want to use some type of cursive font that I personally think will give it more of a sophisticated feel.
My third idea is gona be a sports theme. Being that it is a portfolio, I think that it should let the reader/viewer know what the designer is interested in. I think different images/ backgrounds of my school(art institute-aidallas), high school, Texas background, or some things that pertain to myself as an insight for the reader to understand were I come from.
I understand we are going to give some type of presentation on these ideas but any information or help from you will help.
Thanks,
Jeremiah G.

I was inspired from Douglas Bowman’s article, “A Design Process Revealed”. I realized that planning out a project before picking up a pencil has always helped my work tremendously. I admit, sometimes I jump right into a project without much planning and I can also remember falling short of some desirable projects.
He talks about brainstorming and creating lists of relevant words and phrases related to the topic. This is something that many students learn early on in high school in forms of word bursts and other forms. Before attending this school, I only associated word bursts with writing a dreadful writing assignment or research paper. Now I realize that it is also helpful in many designs problems.
I found it interesting how he says that imagery is not necessary in design. Up to this point in learning about web scripting, I assumed imagery was somewhat a priority. I had planned to explore and use it to strengthen future projects. Although he does say that it can enhance typography in a website, I think I may have been focusing too much on imagery.

1. I would like to understand, as a graphic designer, how we would interact with the possibilities of creating a website for client review.
2. I am taking this course to fully understand any questions I was left with after taking the introduction CSS class.
3. I am new to this web blogging and am interested in the benefits it can bring.
4. Knowing that this class is going to have a more in-depth strategic planning for websites is why I decided to take it as an elective.
5. I am interested in the brand identification part of the class because I know it will broaden my knowledge in designing for future clients.
